Punggol Beach (submitted by Lim Chen Kee)

Punggol Beach is a man-made beach to be developed for water sports activities along with the Punggol 21 Plan. As the years go by, nature has gradually returned. Vegetation has extended into a quarter of beach from the concrete wall that borders the beach. Kingfishers are now a common sight and occasionally herons, egrets and monitor lizards can be spotted.

The recent cleanups at Punggol beach started in year 2002. This year the beach will be tackled by Sembawang Secondary and its ICCS Zone Coordinator is Lim Chen Kee.
